The typical foster child moves multiple times per year and when they move, they may not be able to take their belongings with them. Such disruptions may lead to difficulties with attachment to new foster families and friends, adjustment in new schools, and also may negatively impact self-expression and self-confidence. This talk discusses one family's approach to addressing this social concern. Liam Haskill is a junior at Rock Island High School, where he is a drum major for the Pride of Rock Island Marching Band, trumpet section leader for the Symphonic Band, a member of the Art Club, and a school representative for the Quad Cities Community Foundation's Teens 4 Tomorrow program. Liam and his family founded and operate QC Closet2Closet, a nonprofit organization that provides wardrobe assistance for preteens and teens in foster care or who have other exceptional circumstances. We produced this project for non-profit group, Next Michigan, in conjunction with Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm's state of the state address. This project lays out all of the beautiful feature that Michigan has to offer, as well as the great resources and workforce.

In this interview, vegan activist Gary Yourofsky speaks about how to be an effective animal activist and deal with the mental and emotional toll of awareness. If you've every wondered “what can I do? How can I make a difference?”, this is the video for you.

Clover Hogan worried it could be too late to fix the planet. She says she suffered 'eco-anxiety', a feeling of worry about threats to the environment, such as pollution and climate change. The 22-year-old activist from Hackney, east London, set up 'Force of Nature', a non-profit organisation running workshops helping people tackle their environmental concerns.

She's travelling to the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow to discuss the connection between climate change and mental health.
