Nico Hulkenberg To Make F1 Return Full Time? ?- [Rumour Round-Up]

Even though many believed that Haas would retain their current pairing for next year, things changed when the driver market threw a few curveballs

Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement and that was followed by Fernando Alonso’s move to Aston Martin. McLaren then chose to sever ties with Daniel Ricciardo at the end of this year

Haas suddenly found themselves with a wealth of options. If the latest rumors are to be believed, Haas won’t be going with any of the obvious choices

As per reports by ESPN, former F1 driver and Aston Martin’s reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg is allegedly the new favorite to join Haas as Kevin Magnussen’s teammate

Seemingly, Nico Hulkenberg is rated highly by team owner Gene Haas as well as current driver Kevin Magnussen

Supposedly, Hulkenberg’s experience of 181 race starts has made him the new favorite for the second seat at Haas

Then there is Pierre Gasly who has been greenlit by AlphaTauri to join Alpine from next year. This was previously dependent on whether AlphaTauri could sign IndyCar driver Colton Herta

However, AutoHebdo reports that AlphaTauri have supposedly given up on any hope of that happening

This is seemingly because AlphaTauri are now going after Nyck de Vries whose stock has risen considerably after last week’s race in Monza as per reports by de Telegraaf

As per AutoHebdo, a meeting between Nyck and Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has already taken place and that a deal is imminent

The final piece of the puzzle is the seat at Williams. The consensus is that Nicholas Latifi will be replaced but there is some uncertainty regarding who will replace Latifi

GP Blog have reported that this spot at Williams could allegedly be taken by F2 driver Logan Sargeant
